A passion for basketweaving

Get close to the magic of basket weaving with Gladys Malemba in this short video, shot at her homestead in the Taita Hills. She shares some of the secrets of twining, natural dyeing, and basketweaving while she tells her story. 

Gladys is one of the 1,200 weavers who work with Hadithi Crafts and weave baskets for a their livelihood. And we are proud to be able to support the work of Hadithi by selling their baskets here in our shop. 

Together, we are reinvesting in the community we call home and ensuring that women have an opportunity to improve their livelihoods.
